Position: HomeShareSLO/SmartShare Housing Solutions [Currently filled]

SmartShare Housing Solutions, a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation, develops innovative housing solutions that add to the stock of affordable, sustainable housing in SLO County. HomeShareSLO is its longest running program.

HomeShareSLO facilitates matches between home providers--people with an extra room--and home seekers--those looking for a home. It helps provide affordable housing with existing resources, allows for aging-in-place, builds community and empowers community members. Launched in 2016, the program has now facilitated housemate matches for 120 clients.

The general culture of the organization emphasizes compassion, positivity, professionalism and commitment to community service, mixed with some down-to-earth realism and a healthy sense of humor. Applications are being accepted for the role of HomeShareSLO Program Coordinator.

HomeShareSLO Program Coordinator

Part-time: 25-30 hrs/wk

Salary range: $19-22

Experience: Two years experience preferred supervising a housing or other nonprofit program

Skills: Must be proficient in Google Drive; Excel/Sheets; Word/Docs; Google Calendar

Cover Letter Required

The Program Coordinator manages day-to-day operation of the program under the guidance of the nine-member Board of Directors. This is a good fit for an organized, self-directed person accustomed to wearing many hats. Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following areas.

  • General office-phone, email, maintain files (physical and Google Drive,) mail, banking

  • Client services-coordinate with Program Assistant, Volunteer Coordinator and Client Services Volunteer team for new client intake and client program services

  • Program reporting--compile monthly program report for board meetings, attend board meetings and program committee meetings

  • Fundraising--grant writing, monitoring, tracking and reporting; fundraising events and campaigns

  • Outreach--website content, compose monthly e-newsletter, community events

  • Budgeting & Planning--work with BOD on program budgeting and planning
